Outer's Eco-friendly Outdoor Furniture: My Loveseat Review
Outer is a high-quality outdoor furniture company that focuses on eco-friendly materials, circular design, and encouraging conscious consumers to fall in love with their outdoor living spaces.
If this brand looks familiar to you, you might have seen founders Terry Lin and Jiake Liu on Shark Tank! I was recently gifted an Outer outdoor loveseat and am excited to share my thoughts on this sustainable and stylish outdoor furniture.

Sustainable Materials & Circular Design in Outdoor Furniture
Outer outdoor furniture is made with eco-friendly and recycled materials such as wicker, teak, aluminum, and concrete.

When designing their products this brand takes into consideration durability and circular design which is great for conscious consumers searching for a long lasting patio furniture.
For example here are a few ways their furniture is more eco-conscious than traditional patio furniture.
Outer's teak is sustainably sourced and FSC certified.
For each teak tree harvested, Outer's partner farm plants three more in its place. A single teak tree can absorb 10kg of carbon every year, helping offset climate change.
Their bug blankets are made out of recycled polyester.
Their outdoor rugs are made with 100% recycled PET plastic bottles.
Their HDPE wicker is made of 30% recycled. materials.
Each chair of the sofa gives 99+ plastic water bottles a second life. The fabric they use is covered in a nano-coating that makes it stain- and weather-resistant ensuring the furniture lasts a long time and for further protection they have created a patented built in cover known as OuterShell® which is used to protect your furniture.
Their products are durable and crafted to last with their teak, aluminum and wicker sofas and chairs have a 10 year warranty, while their cushions, teak & aluminum dining tables and chairs have a 5 year warranty.

As Outer values circular design their entire outdoor sofa sets are recyclable at the end of their use. The frame is made of aluminum, foams can be easily shred and repurposed as carpet padding and every plastic used falls into international recycling codes 2, 4, and 5.

Outer Furniture Review- Outdoor Loveseat
I was recently gifted a loveseat and am excited to share my thoughts! I've been enjoying my loveseat for two months now and have been really impressed.
I've been using it to relax in our backyard and have the occasional sunny Seattle work day outside! We've also hosted a few people in our backyard so it's been great to have for that.
The Aluminum Loveseat
I received the Charcoal Aluminum Outdoor Loveseat with the Palisades Cream cushions.
While cream may seem like a bold choice for outdoor furniture, we had a few other chairs on our patio that we wanted our new loveseat to match.
So far I've been incredibly pleased with how the sofa cushions have held up. Our dog loves jumping up on the Outer sofa and even when he tracks dirt on the white cushions I've been able to easily wipe them down.
I also appreciate that the Aluminum Frame is made from a high-quality, powder-coated, rust-proof Aluminum which doesn’t get too hot in the sun! and is incredibly durable.
This loveseat is incredibly comfortable. The memory foam cushions are firm with a little give making the loveseat perfect for relaxing. I sincerely appreciate how the loveseat has pillows along the side. The side and back cushions help make this couch extra cozy!
This loveseat is great for small spaces, but I also love that this sofa has the ability to expand if we ever move somewhere with a larger outdoor space.
The design of the love seat is made from two end chairs that connect, however, if we want to create a larger outer outdoor sofa we can purchase additional armless chairs which connect to our existing end chairs to expand the loveseat into a larger outdoor sofa with modular design.
I love this innovative design! This ensures that our outdoor couch will be able to adapt if we ever move or need to have larger gatherings.
I really love that this loveseat has an integrated cover built in.
OuterShell protective outdoor furniture cover PC: Outer
This built in OuterShell cover protects the cushions when not in use, and features Velcro to secure it in place.
Our yard has a lot of trees, so keeping the leaves and dirt off the cushions to ensure our sofa lasts a long time is important.
It can be tricky online shopping for furniture. I know I've previously made the mistake of purchasing some uncomfortable furniture online. And I think outdoor furniture is especially difficult to shop for because a lot of brands in the furniture industry tend to mass produce and seem to choose either durability or comfort.
Outer's furniture features both comfort and durability PLUS modern designs and sustainability! These couch cushions are honestly some of the most comfortable cushions I've sat on with outdoor furniture and the fabric is soft too.
Caring for Outer's Outdoor Furniture
While Outer's eco-friendly outdoor furniture is made with high quality weather resistant materials, it is important to take care of your furniture to ensure it lasts as long as it possibly can! Caring for what you have is a sustainable practice!
Charcoal Aluminum Outdoor Loveseat with the Palisades Cream cushions
So far we've left our cushions outside for the past two months and covered them up. They have held up great.
During the winter months we will be planning to bring our cushions inside due to the heavy rain weather conditions we get here in Seattle. However, for the summer months the built in protective cover has helped keep the cushions in great shape.
For cleaning, like I said, so far we've been able to wipe down our off-white cushions pretty easily.
However, when we need to do a deep clean the cushion covers can go in the washing machine and the aluminum frame can be easily wiped down. Depending on the Outer product they have specific care instructions on their website.
Would I Recommend Outer Furniture?
Yes. I've been LOVING my Outer loveseat because of the low maintenance cleaning, stylish design, eco-conscious materials, and comfort!

One Year Outer Furniture Outdoor Couch Update
After having my couch for almost a year now, I am even more impressed. This couch has held up incredibly well.
We did end up purchasing an extra cover since we live in Seattle where it is extra rainy, we wanted a full couch cover. The cushions have held up incredibly well.
Even the cushions have held their color well too! The outdoor loveseat is still as comfortable as ever and has really made me want to spend more time in my yard.
