Whole Foods Sustainable Wedding Flowers: Baby's Breath Bouquets
I am SO happy with how our Whole Foods wedding flowers turned out. When planning my ethical & sustainable wedding, I knew I wanted to focus on natural and earthy tones. I fell in love with the simplicity of the baby’s breath and the natural elements of the eucalyptus.
Whole Foods did all my wedding flowers and our florist, Estella, did a particularly fabulous job. I’m especially in love with the eucalyptus garland and bridal bouquet. I’m so impressed with her skills!
Why I Chose Whole Foods to Do my Wedding Flowers?
Responsibly Sourced
I chose to go with Whole Foods because of their focus on organic, locally grown, and Whole Trade. Whole Foods Whole Trade flowers provide a 10% premium that goes toward community programs for the areas where the flowers are grown. A lot of Whole Trade flowers are Rainforest Alliance Certified.
The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization, works with farmers and forest communities around the world to conserve natural resources and protect the well-being of local communities.
Along with The Rainforest Alliance, Whole Foods also focuses on socially responsible third party certifications from Fairtrade International, The Institute for Marketecology (IMO) Social & Fair Trade Certification, & Fair Trade USA.
A More affordable Price Point
Whole Foods flowers were much more affordably priced than quotes I received from the florist. Read on for pricing details!
Greenery Wedding Flowers
I chose to focus on eucalyptus & baby’s breath to keep my theme of natural, earthy tones through out. The bridesmaids carried baby’s breath bouquets.
These simple yet sophisticated baby’s breath bouquets complimented their sage green bridesmaids dresses from Birdy Grey.
My bridal bouquet featured a mix of greenery and white flowers that drew the eye in. I love how the seeded eucalyptus created texture within my bouquet.
For the tables we used a mix of eucalyptus and baby’s breath, while draping the head table with eucalyptus garland.
How much do Whole Foods wedding flowers cost?
We ordered the following & had it delivered to our venue for under $900. I priced out wedding florists in the area and there was a huge mark-up. By ordering our wedding flowers from Whole Foods we were actually able to save money. Most of the florists I got quotes from were well over $1000-2000.
one bridal bouquet
4 pin on corsages
13 boutonnieres
7 baby’s breath bridesmaid bouquets
10 eucalyptus pew decorations
15 foot eucalyptus garland
We did a semi-DIY centerpiece for 14 tables which featured eucalyptus and baby’s breath purchased from Whole Foods.
A few extra bundles of eucalyptus & baby’s breath for entry way tables
My Eco-friendly Wedding Centerpieces
For the head table I went with eucalyptus garland which turned out stunning. The seeded eucalyptus garland added texture to the table. I think it helped make the wedding table stand out.
The garland was great for the long table by creating a dramatic feel that drew everyone’s eyes to the wedding table. For the guest tables we put together recycled glass bottles filled with baby’s breath and surrounded them with silver candles & eucalyptus. Whole Foods Wedding Flowers in Dallas
To be specific the numbers, price, and my experience are all based on working with the Whole Foods in Addison, TX. Only certain Whole Foods do wedding flowers. We went to two Whole Foods in the Dallas area before finding one that was able to do wedding flowers.
Our florist Estella was fabulous. She was great at communicating if a certain type of flower would be unavailable and her work is stunning.
I showed Estella some Pinterest Pins that I wanted to base my flowers off of and she did a great job re-creating them.
Overall I had a great experience purchasing my wedding flowers from Whole Foods and would definitely recommend exploring this as a sustainable wedding flower option.
